I went to the nearby University Library and searched and searched for the very recent "New York Magazine" that reportedly listed AXC as the #2 stock pick of the year on a reported page 40 or 41, with the precise 128% return SI readers voted it'd return. NADA. I looked all over "New Yorker", and "New York " but could find nothing. In fact, could hardly find anything resembling stock market, as they dabble almost exclusively in high brow NY city artsy stuff. Wonder if that broker who reported it reported the wrong magazine title? There is the "New York Times Magazine" which comes out w/ Sunday edition of NY Times paper, maybe that was it??? Today is day Bramson is presenting to Denver folks. Hasn't done anything for the stock!
This stock action reminds me of the academic studies that advocate buy and hold forever stock investing. They typically come out with these historical stats that if you tried to time the market and did brilliantly, BUT, missed the 10 best days or 10 best months in the last 60 years or whatever, that your return would've been below average. Looking back over AXC charts of 96, this stock is just like that... months of sheer boredom and meaningless small incremental price action, then BOOM, a huge dollar or $2 up day. 97 will be even more so if and when more KM announcements come. I'm staying and in fact will try and borrow more as price finally rockets toward 20 and beyond! Staying the course, waiting for one of those "10 best" days... |
