No Bill havn't forgotten or neglected. Why was the south democrat? Well Lincoln freed the slaves he was a Republican hence the south choosing the democrats as their party of choice since the civil war days. It has taken the south over 100 years to finally see that it is the republican party, the party of closure and shall we say not as receptive to racial inclusion as the democrats, to reflect their values of conservatism exclusion. It only took the good old boys 100 years to grasp the political change but in the south everything moves slow. Hell crackers in South Carolina were recently put on record as still hating yankees and wishing they would leave. I'm glad I did
