Wouldn't it make much more sense to combine full-keyboard capability with the voice recognition technology? Couldn't you type the characters faster if you had more choices per stroke (eg., all the letter and number keys) and fewer strokes per character? Most thought provoking article--what is the ideal combination for China? If we accept that it is voice recognition combined with an input technology, why must it be Zi's? And if it isn't Zi's, can they make enough on other devices to make some real money? If it is Zi's, is that really the killer app for Zi? (I'm sure I should say something about paradigm shift here somewhere:). PS--And why shouldn't hand helds have 400mhz chips? Once you're making the chips in bulk...Heat dissipation less of a problem in a phone?...
