[ADSL Transceiver/Controller – MB86670] would think we're getting pretty close to the new adsl silicon as the product "preview" literature is getting pretty detailed... seems the new chip will be named keywave and the item # is MB86670: KeyWave MB86670 - ADSL Transceiver/Controller December 1998 product preview 2p pdf (version 1.3) fml.co.uk and... this same device is described at greater length (the date on this one is october, but haven't seen it before, tho i certainly could have missed it): "ADSL Transceiver/Controller – MB86670 ADSL Modem Products R9801 Overview Fujitsu's MB86670 ADSL Transceiver/Controller is the key component for Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) modems supporting Discrete Multi Tone (DMT) modulation. This highly integrated device supports Category II ADSL functionality as defined by ANSI T1.413, including trellis encoding and echo cancellation, with bit rates programmable up to 1 Mbps upstream and 8 Mbps downstream. (good news)... no doubt a line driver will be available... existing fujitsu?... fujitsu-ede.com seems like they're gonna make it (as advertised) in the january time frame .. and all we're missing now is the press release ..... and maybe hdsl2 rok silicon too... (go get em orctf) .. :)
