But there is one financial information company that plans to offer online brokering next
week, that the market has missed entirely.
FRTI Freerealtime.com, a recent ipo, quietly announced in October that it would begin
offering online trading 1 January 1999-

comprehensive brokerage services for its expanding membership.
The deal has projected revenue of $24 million over the first three years.
Planned to commence operation on Jan. 1, 1999, the new online brokerage service will
incorporate many innovative features not presently available to
Freerealtime.com customers, including real-time account updating and a fully integrated
offering of financial services. Customers of the 24-hour online service will
enjoy Internet and telephone orders on all stocks and over 5,000 mutual funds, and
have access to online bill payment, check writing and debit card services. A full
complement of innovative research tools will be available through a new, user-defined
interface designed for both the individual and professional investor.
