Midvale, Utah, Dec. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Investors are buying
Data Broadcasting Corp.'s shares -- which have risen 68 percent
since Dec. 16 -- on optimism over the planned spinoff of its
financial Web site joint venture MarketWatch.Com, Business Week's
''Inside Wall Street'' column reported, citing unidentified fund
managers and investment bankers. MarketWatch.Com, which Data
Broadcasting owns with CBS Corp., is expected to sell for $10 to
$12 a share in its January initial public offering, with the
price rising rapidly from there, the magazine said. Data
Broadcasting and CBS will each own 38 percent of MarketWatch.Com
after the offering, the magazine said.

Shares in Data Broadcasting, a provider of real-time market
data, fell 11/16 today to 14 5/16.
