Maurice, re: how many people would bail? Good point. An even more important point: How many people would bail out of mutual funds? With mutual funds in the historically lower range of 6% cash, it would take only 1 in 16 holders to redeem or transfer to money market to force the funds to start selling their stocks at any price*. It is a precarious market at best, all the "it can't happen here" comments on SI have a very sobering effect. Good luck to all, John
