Mary, if we all agreed on the future course of events, we wouldn't need the markets to be open daily. We could just have periodic ipos to raise capital and save all the rest of the energy. Similarly we wouldn't need SI. It takes all sorts of different viewpoints, different investing styles, and different financial situations to make a market.
