Let's take your #1:

"1. why is punishment necessary for god to achieve his will."

Let's presuppose your faith, not the Christian faith, no punishment to achieve God's will.

How would God shape us with no punishment, as the "Silver's" faith would presuppose? When we made a mistake, an error, committed a sin, if he did not have punishment at his disposal, what would be God's choices?

PS- Speaking about a lack of time, my wife has 2-3 blot clots in her legs, I have been sick for about a month with multiple illnesses that will not go away, one now requiring surgery. My oldest daughter is giving us discipline nightmares, so I know what a shortage of time is. And remember I have a 11, 3 1/2 and 4 month old daughters on top of it all. Bear with me as well!
