Frank, I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on the following point:

For the most part, these are people not gifted with education or great intelligence, and they think they are Republican because they've bought into the "moral majority" mentality. I've always found it ironic that people who collect food stamps or live in subsidized housing go about insulting the liberal mentality which made such things possible, but as I said, these people are not highly intelligent. They think they are Republican because certain religious leaders have TOLD them they are Republican. And while they may have trouble understanding some of the finer points of Christianity (i.e., compassion, kindness, loving one's neighbor as oneself, etc), they have the sheep mentality part down pat.
