Tim, I am freezing my A$$ets off! 8 degrees this morning...
What a long way I have come in a year and a half. Options, indexes, shorting, daytrading - who would have thunk? And to top it off the WSJ, yes, as in Wall Street Journal, called this morning to get MY input regarding internet stocks and my outlook for 99. You know this is a speculative market when the Wall Street Journal wants to know what I think, because yes, in fact, I did just crawl out from under a rock. Or should I say Ike and the other threaders helped pull me out from under it. I owe many thanks to everyone here.
HYSL should see support soon. If it does, I may jump on. I love Essbase, wonderful product (and I'm long ORCL so that's tough for me to say). I think more and more companies/departments will find the need for warehouse and datamart solutions requiring OLAP and Essbase will be a great candidate to fulfill those needs. I think HYSL is suffering because Essbase is such a great product; Enterprise sales are being cannibalized by Essbase. Why go with a canned, static solution such as Enterprise when you can easily customize your own with Essbase?
Some of my longs going into 99: COMS, ORCL, CATP, BKS, TMAR, CPQ, COC, HD 99 shorts: anything .com
I'll wave as I roll by on Amtrak this afternoon. Heading to NYC to greet 1999.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful 99! May your stocks soar and your handicap plummet!
