Mirage and Grand aren't even in the same league. Grand would hardly qualify as a serious "competitor" to MIR. GND is an over-hyped and under-performing outfit which sunk a lot of $ into a real turkey: The Statosphere. MIR, by contrast, is arguably the world's premiere gaming company with extremely desirable properties in all markets in which it has a presence.

GND has little to offer MIR, because MIR can do it bigger and better on their own. A more likely suitor for GND would be Primadonna or Promus. Patience will reward investors in MIR. There are three ambitious projects coming on line by 2001 (Bellagio, Beau Rivage, and the Mirage Atlantic City). These will increase revenues and profits dramatically. You are getting 30% growth going forward at 22x current earnings. Not a bad wager.
