When I write software, I use your standard. I let the average person unfamiliar with the box fumble with my interface and I watch what they do. I know both the sophisticated end and the primitive end. Even the sophisticates have to sit at other's creations. You can know all about what's under the hood, but that doesn't mean you will be able to drive it well. If someone were to watch me, a 25 years experienced pro in computers, struggle with your average program, they would say I didn't have a clue, a beginner. My hardware guys know a lot more about that end than I do, but they don't know how to derive an object. When you deal with a alien contraption, you have to learn it the same way everyone else does. You play with it and through the process of discovery, get it down. My judgement of AOL includes all these considerations. The public streams to it because they are like lemmings. In this case what randomly streams one way will randomly stream another. Whether that direction is towards ATHM remains to be seen, but I do believe that eventually they will be streaming away from AOL in any event.
