It has been passed on to the House for approval and then they're supposed to vote on the bill(The Internet Gambling Prohibition Act). I hold stock in GGNC but what I'd like to know is if this does get passed, does this online casino or any other casino either onshore or offshore have a large enough client base to continue making profits. Also how would this proposed law handle the stock itself, is it legal to publicly trade a stock for an illegal company? I'm no lawyer and believe me when I tell you that I'm just a "kid" compared to most of you all, but I just spent the last 3 hours reading up on the proposed Act on the government's home page and would like to clarify some of the arguements on some of the issues that other investors have posted. I've seen where people say that if the law is passed it wouldn't affect GIC because it's offshore and the bets are not received on US soil. From what I could interpret from what I read about the Act is that the government is going to go after regulating the ISP's and make it illegal to place a bet through any US ISP to an online casino foreign or not. This could be a problem for everyone investing in these casinos. Maybe it's time we all start emailing our Representatives and let them know how they're screwing up the economy yet once again. By the way if any of you do read the proposed Act you'll find that they're major basis for this law is "...having little Johnny come home from school one day and get his mother's credit card and lose their entire life saving's before she gets home from work!" Darn kids, screw it all up for the rest of us! Don't know about you but I'm gonna ride this one out......GO GGNC! Karin
