Peruvian Gold: El Encanto Adit Results, Ecuador
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1997-- PERUVIAN GOLD LTD. (VSE:PVO.) David Henstridge, President, reports that assay results from the adit being cross-cut immediately behind Trench 7, El Encanto Prospect, Ecuador, have been received and are shown on the diagram below (adit results are in g/t gold and are over one-metre intervals).
The results, although incomplete, appear to confirm the surface sampling results in Trench 7, however, in light of the negative drill results in this vicinity, it is premature to draw any conclusions at this time. Note that the cross-cut, currently nearing 40 metres, was necessary to reach the mineralized zone from the west due to the steep nature of the outcrop area. After completion of the cross-cut, the proposed drift will commence to ascertain the lateral extent of the high grade, structurally controlled, gold mineralization.
The regional exploration program is well advanced with a crew of about 30 men involved in detailed sampling of further highly anomalous drainage areas to the north of El Encanto. The first results are expected in February.
