I agree with you that broadband is where we are going. But for now and for ease of use AOL does a very good job. I spent several months getting my mom up and running on a computer this year. Very frustrating. Web pages were a mass of heiroglyphics, but AOL made sense to her. And for her limited needs AOL will suffice for years to come. You, on the other hand, are a savy and demanding user. I am surprised you tried them at all.

I would be very surprised if when broadband is more common and the backbone is in place to handle the extra load that AOL won't participate. Can't see broadband as being the key to survival for them. A bigger pipe is a better pipe.

I guess I'm curious why you hate AOL so much? It doesn't appear to be an athm or aol future. They serve different needs.
