Jach,

>>> My take on FORE hiring close to 1000 people is that they did get a large contract from one or more Service Providers for the ASX4000 product line and that the revenue stream can support this enormous increas in staffing <<<

Could you clarify your claim that FORE is increasing its workforce, specifically:

1. What is the initial number that the increase will add to? In what timeframe is this ramp up supposed to occur? For example, fore could add 1000 people to the existing 1800 people by such and such a date.

2. How many exactly has the company said they will add? You mention above "close to 1000", where did this come from?

Here's a few FORE facts from the 10-Q for qtr ending Sep 30, 1998. Note these increases are over the last year:

"The number of employees of the Company engaged in research and development increased to 446 at September 30, 1998, from 408 at September 30, 1997."

"The number of employees of the Company engaged in sales and marketing activities increased to 899 at September 30, 1998, from 622 at September 30, 1997. "

"The number of employees of the Company engaged in general and administrative activities increased to 188 at September 30, 1998, from 153 at September 30, 1997."

This adds up to an increase of about 350 people, if I'm not missing other areas where they added, from Sep 30, 1997 to Sep 30, 1998.
