I don't disagree with that at all. It does seem to be a lot longer than and more out of whack. Heck, maybe they are all wrong and I am right! :)

Who knows. All I can say is it is only a confirming indicator, or more of an interest indicator to me at this point in time anyway.

I still think you have hit the best solution. Get the data direct from the NYSE. Trouble is awfully hard to get the back data from them for testing purposes.

You saw the email from MobyData indicating why they thought there were mistakes. Not a whole lot of comfort in that.

I ran a little test. If I add the ADV/DECL/UNC issues from MobyData for the last few days, these are the totals:
