I will certainly play closer attention to the 1999 picks after that track record. Last year you had the disadvantage of, let's say, an underperforming 1997 portfolio. It was hard to make the leap to the great unknown companies which made the final cut. Then I didn't know how much was value and how much just froth.

This year I think we will come up with a roster with a little more name recognition but still room to move.

According to my shoddy records, here are the candidates so far (including last year's carry-forwards and your latest additions):

CMIV
GNET
INSO
OTEXF
WCOM
CMGI
RNWK
MXTR
PLCM
MFNX
APCC
COGNF
CC
DISH
IACO
FHT
GEEK

That's 17. We should be batting around 30 - 50 to make our final cut to 20. I suggest that anyone who participates gets to pick a final 20 in priority order. Then we just crunch the numbers in a popularity contest.

OK?
