Yeah, just when we thought that things couldn't get any sillier! Were those other citizens
impeached from any elected office? Of course not! Bill Clinton can STILL be tried in
court, and can STILL get the same punishment that the other citizens got -- AFTER he
leaves office. So cut all that "above the law, below the law" crap, will ya?!>

I am really trying to be gentle and polite, but it hurts to bite my tongue that hard. So I will just calmly repeat the part of my argument that applies here--Bill Clinton is the CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OF THE LAND. He put his hand on a Bible and swore to uphold the law; he is held to an even higher standard than are other citizens. Perjury is a felony; unless there is some common agreement that it is a serious crime, our whole system of justice may fall by the wayside. Therefore, although it is possible that there may be some further legal trouble after he leaves office, perjury and obstruction of justice in office are crimes which are certainly punishable by impeachment and possible conviction.
Incidentally, were you seriously asserting that Monica's story is untrue? If it were, don't you think Clinton's attorneys would have tried to do that? In fact, there are so many Secret Service radio records of the President's movements from the family quarters into the Oral Office shortly after she arrives at the White House, computer files, and phone records that all her liaisons are very well documented. For example, on the two occasions where she claimed to have given Bill blow jobs while he was discussing affairs of state with Congressmen, the White House phone records show calls he placed to those men at exactly the times which corroborate Monica's accounts.
Hmmm . . . Drudge seems to have drudged up something. I wonder what it might be? Too bad it's a major national holiday, because I for one am intrigued.
