John-- FWIW, I just sold my Cheung Kong after holding it for abt. 3 years. I have read several reports indicating that the advantage of HK as a gateway to the West is essentially over. Other Chinese cities, mainly Shanghai, will be open and real estate is much cheaper there. I still keep Swire Pacific because I think air travel will increase, and they have terrific value in the Coca Cola franchise. I do think the Asian crises is over the hump, and recovery has begun. good investing-- fred
