Happy New Year 1999--the year of ADSL....For those who have not really taken a real position in ADSL you have approx a two to three week window to buy WSTL at a price that is absurd compared to other ADSL companies, for others that have been slammed it is close to the time that proves you indeed have not been a fool...Thoughts on the first 3 months of 99...the 12/31 qtr should be a none event -.23 to -.24, but the conference call should be very interesting....My opinion, on things that could happen....ALA lic. their chip to WSTL, why would ALA do this, because BEL wants WSTL at the CPE for DMT and the chip lic deal should signal their intentions of interopability...WSTL will annouce a convertable perferred deal raising approx 50mil with a current alliance partner(data integrator), the only question is the convert strike...The company wants to wait till Bel dmt is confirmed so that the convert strike can be in the teens, this could all unfold in jan99....The Slc-2000 is really needed and when the product is ready look for LU to start releasing wins...I feel when Bel intentions are know that the silent anaylst on this company will have to recognize WSTL and thus inst. interest will rise not to mention that as news flows there will be very few shareholders willing to sell their holding in single digits thus creating a very large upward spike in WSTL's price...I feel that FUJ/WSTL for GTE is real possiblity and maybe the financing will shed some light....Mgt has been working very hard behind the scenes and I feel 1st qtr 99 will prove it..good luck to all, this should be a exciting year!
