Gold priced in US$ has gone nowwhere in the past year. It has held it's value as it should during a period of little inflation or deflation. In fact as a commodity it has outperformed other commodities. All many of on this thread say is that the money supply is growing at a huge rate, the US is running a trade deficit of $200 billion and owes the world $1.5 trillion. Good reasons to value the gold in Fort Knox, if there is any left, at a much higher price.
Some gold mining companies are trading at just 4 times cash flow. That's cheap.
