Doug,

I agree with your points regarding the need to increase margin size and the historical performance of Canadian companies on U.S. exchanges, however, I believe that in the case of BII, by virtue of it having ".com" in its name and the fact that it also has a website for US customers, its performance in the US market will be comparable to its competitors. BII's focus is not entirely Canadian in scope as far as it's business strategy is concerned, and in fact its desire to expand globally and to make bigger inroads in the US may in fact serve as major boosters for stock performance on NASDAQ. The internet is a globally-encompassing phenomena, and I believe American investors will look at BII for its global potential and not because it is largely run by a Canadian management team. In this respect, it can defy the latter concern you raised and realize some pretty decent stock valuations. In the final analysis, it appears as if anything internet-related is doing well period regardless of its fundamentals or viability. I mean really, I read in the Globe and Mail recently that a website called Jesus2000.com is going to go public by spring selling religiously-oriented merchandise! And shares of D.G. Jewellery of Canada have soared on NASDAQ upon announcement of their selling items online. (As a side-note, D.G. does not YET have a listing on TSE, even though it is a Canadian company!)
