I wouldn't recommend REITs. If you remember what occurred last August when Criimimae went bankrupt because their securitized mortgage bonds became illiquid.

T-bills over Euro, gold, as you said, on further dips, and cash.

I think we'll finally see a small cap January-February effect, especially in Y2K stocks. There is no where else to find anything resembling value. And small caps have little international exposure.

Y2K will cause large companies to stock up on parts and components. That will hurt their earnings, while boosting the earnings of the mid-cap and smaller companies that provide them. It may even provide a short-term boost in commodity prices.
