Final point on the amzn short discussion. For the less ambitious(ie greedy) a short sale and short put will let you sleep better and will provide a small modicom of staying power should the stock re assume assent.

Would you mind elaborating, please? Do you mean short the stock and the put simultaneously. How do you see that helping?
