I think people were taking advantage of the 14 day listing because of the holidays.

However, I don't like the 14 day auctions, and tend to avoid bidding on them.

I think eBay should definitely add 1 day auctions - they would get the same listing fee, and close to as much on commission, while satisfying sellers who want a quick sale and buyers who "just have to have it now".
