I'll be looking for a broker towards the end of January to transfer an account to. I pretty much narrowed it down to Datek recently. However, it's become obvious to me from reading this thread, as well as other sources, that there are big problems between Datek and some of their present customers.

Here's my question: Have the majority of the problems been with execution speed and mainly in regard to daytrading?

I know there are other issues out there regarding the interface, customer support, etc., but isn't this the one burning issue? And, if so, is it indeed getting better? Besides a daytraders' need for quick response, is the system slow enough to make this an issue for a swing or position trader?

I would appreciate any comments beginning 1/4/99 through January on server response improvement or lack there of from you folks. I will be watching this thread and making my decision soon. Thanks.
