I'm also very curious to see what's going to happen on Monday. That was not your average retail investor or two buying at the close.

I hope you're right about Zelda and WCW, of course, but I still think Pokemon is a "stealth craze." If the 4Q numbers don't indicate a major success (which maybe they won't), maybe it'll be the release of the plush toys (supposed to be in February?) that'll do it. The marketing machinery has still hardly begun to crank up, don't forget. And there are new Pokemon in the pipeline all the time -- my kids are already talking about Togepi constantly.

My wife took the kids to a local Japanese supermarket today and they came home with a whole pile of little Japanese Pokemon toys and candies and a kids' magazine in which Pikachu is the "spokesman" in the majority of the advertisements (even for stores and products not owned or made by Nintendo). Mario, Yoshi, "Hello Kitty" and other strictly Japanese TV characters (including Sony and Sega ones) are much less prominent.

If nothing else, we have a couple of N64 Pokemon releases to look forward to later this year, "Pokemon Stadium" and- I forgot the other one, and my authorities are asleep <g>.
