Find the components of the Russell 2000? I don't know.

They're small companies. The Russell 1000 is roughly equivalent to the S&P 500 and S&P 400 Mid-Cap combined, and the Russell 2000 fall below those in market cap.

There are a ton of small companies selling at very attractive prices that indexing has let lie fallow for years. Many fast-growing small or emerging companies with solid balance sheets in the service, technology, health-care and consumer areas. Most don't have overseas exposure and, if the breakout in the Russell 2000 is more than a January effect bounce, may be finally finding sponsorship.

I think the best and fastest way to play them is through the Transamerica Premier Small Cap Fund (TPSCX), whose manager is probably the best in the business. I think it was the best-performing small-cap fund for 1998, up over 50%. Once you have the prospectus use his portfolio for individual ideas and go from there.
