In "real life" I work as an engineer. I did some traces on millionare.com and the results are quite revealing. Basically, they are one of several hundred domains provided by a "rent a domain name" company called MSI Marketing.
The following information shows some Internet traces on millionaire.com .
It is divided into sections for easier reading. (Sorry for the technical
detail, but it is necessary to explain what you are seeing here.)
Internet diagnostic tools, used for troubleshooting network problems,
were used to create these traces.
In the material below, equal signs (=) are used to separate sections
and asterisks (*) are used to contain information returned by
various Internet diagnostic tools.

All computers on the Internet have an IP address. Since names are
easier for people to remember, some Internet computers have a name to
match the IP address. Here's what a DNS (Domain Name System) query
shows for www.millionaire.com :

Using the "nslookup" program, it is possible to find all the hosts on
a given domain that have both a name and an IP address. The computer
name in brackets [NS1.REQUEST.NET] is the name of the computer that
provided this DNS information.

As you can see from the data above, all 3 names (millionaire.com,
ftp.millionaire.com, and www.millionaire.com) have the same IP
address, indicating they belong to the same machine.

It is possible to find out, by using the "whois" program, who owns
a particular network IP address. Usually, these are in blocks that
belong to a particular ISP (Internet Service Provider). In this case,
"whois" found the following data on host whois.arin.net :

So, we see that a company called MSI Marketing actually owns the
IP address for www.millionaire.com.
Using a custom piece of software that I wrote that prowls a range

a number of companies like MSI that charge prices starting at $30 a month
and higher to host Web sites for various customers. Depending on how
much you pay them, they will even design your Web site for you. The
point is that www.millionaire.com is just one of many Web sites that
MSI provides facilities for. |
