What the heck are you talking about? Who really cares if the Senate's original purpose has changed, what is important is it has. The Congress and Senate are given their jobs by popular vote and they represent the people. As such they owe an allegiance to do the 'people's business' the way they are expected. Failure to do that often results in the loss of that job--nothing more.

Mr. Martin I fear people like you. You give far too little credit to those who vote. Sure the media has influence and yes it often goes overboard. I have read your 'gospel' according to Martin several times and I think you are the one who has been duped and have allowed yourself to be influenced to the point of being just a bit irrational about this issue.

You probably saw the movie "The Killing Fields" and now you are an expert on the SE Asian massacres. It is an unforgivable part of our history that we stood by, much the same as we stood and watched Asian Americans put into camps and did nothing to aid the Holocost victims. But the one thing that didn't happen then and hasn't happened now, is the mass-media being the reason. Ever been to Cambodia Mr. Martin? I was fortunate enough to have lived there for 16 months working as a UN Observer. I saw the Killing Fields and they are all over Cambodia. I am not sure what we could have done short of military intervention and at that time it wasn't the media keeping us out it was the political climate and the people not wanting another Vietnam.

At the age of 36 and 'transitioning' from the Army I have to ask myself why? Sounds more like you are Chaptering from the Army. You see how it works? My observation may be as misguided as yours.
