Re: "What's our next big space adventure?"
Michael,
By now you've read the link in my post and know what I met by Wholesaling ADSL, an interesting and informative article.
What's our next big space adventure?
Mars Polar Lander will be launched aboard a DELTA II rocket on Sunday Jan.3 at 15:21 EST (we always have something cooking). mars.jpl.nasa.gov
If you would like to watch the launch over the Net this page gives you a number of options. mars.jpl.nasa.gov
Here's another page with simulations, photos. mars.jpl.nasa.gov
We launched the Mars Polar Lander Sister Mission "Mars Climate Orbiter on December 11, 1998.
The launch window for Sunday is 1 Second, no time for problems!
The entire launch Window is 25 days, for a total of 25 Seconds.
I head to the Cape this morning at 10am for our F-1 Day (Launch Simulation) which checks to ensure that all Range Resources are working and ready for tomorrows launch attempt.
This is not a 9 to 5 job, hope everyone enjoys their News Years weekend, as for me I'll be at a console... At least it was not Christmas or New Years Day.
I know the general public has no idea, or cares what we launch, it's a shame it all gets lost in the Media Sauce.
The Fun Never Stops, I believe we have 13 launches between now and March 18th, Yes you read that correctly, 13!
Perhaps I should go out to the Pad and stencil ADSL on the side of this one.
Time to lace up the sneakers, and test the Bic lighter, once I light that fuse I have to run like the wind. JW@KSC |
