Why would I want to make money for YOU?!

I'm looking to invest in one of the PBHG funds at the end of February (probably Tech. & Comm.), so I've been reading up on funds and the practices of fund managers. Although I have a fair amount of trust in Pilgrim and Baxter and their past record, I have to wonder how far they can go before they become ineffective at managing their holdings. Anyone have any advice for a 26-year-old newbie who's looking to get in on what looks to be a sure thing?

All things being equal, I can't imagine why a fund manager's first priority would be making any of us individual investors rich. Chances are that they're not going to be around as long as any of us are anyway, so why not take the money and run?

Food for thought,

Mark
