If I may....there are two reasons DSL will take off.

RBOC's will need to bring prices down to compete with the CableCo's who will offer more aggressive pricing as well. Second, RBOC's will "get it"...they will learn (once again from the CableCo's) that pricing must be based on services used...not on bandwidth. DSL access will come down to $20 a month. You'll then pay for different services..such as voice, internet access, video (although video will be only be for conferencing..not for broadcast since ADSL doesnt have the capability of supporting broadcast video....we'll need SDSL for that...)

Point is, simple interent access over DSL will be replaced by real multiservice access. RBOC's, at that point, can and will bring down the access rates and then charge for the services you use. This will make DSL more cost effective for users AND still generate MORE revenue for the provider.... This will begin in 99 and become HUGE by 2001...
