OFF TOPIC...

JB and Borzou,

I didn't experience much nicotine withdrawal effects. I get the impression that maybe nicotine withdrawal is a bit over-hyped. I opted not to rely on the nicotine gum for fear that I would be substituting one addiction with another.

With me, especially after smoking for 45 years, it's the HABIT, triggered by a vast array of stimuli, that is the most difficult to overcome.

At work or at home, whenever I reach for "my friends in my shirt pocket" (less often, now), I take about 5 or 6 DEEP breaths or, run up and down a flight of stairs a few times, etc... and the urge passes. As a side benefit, I'm getting in shape, again... albeit slowly at my age.

I still love the smell of a cigarette or a good cigar or pipe, though. I don't think that'll ever diminish.

Regards and good luck to you, too, JB. Really, it's a piece of cake!
