[More AWRE/PAIR questions:]

>>>Do you know enough about the datails of the AWRE/PAIR deal that will allow a second source (or better yet a replacement source) of DMT ADSL (like the overture 8 based upon the low power, single chip MOT CG set)>>>

First of all, companies don't usually require second sources when they've signed an alliance. This comes with contracts.

<<<<[H&Q say: "As the RBOCs begin to seriously consider DMT ADSL capabilities, it is our opinion that the incumbent vendors will hold a significant advantage over the competition"]

Scary for AMTX...to convert hope/speculation into intelligent investing we should actually know more about the DMT patent issue/royalties...as it seems like the RBOC that have gone with AWRE/ASND will stick with these vendors>>>>

Lots of speculation there. Why would ASND stick with one vendor? I actually think it's unlikely. Aware has gone on record saying they know they'll have to patent, so I don't understand your concern.

As for H&Q's quote, "it is our opinon that the incumbent vendors will hold a significant advantage over the competition," I'm not sure what they mean. If they mean RBOCs will favor the vendors they've used in trials, then AWRE is in a heap of trouble.

I may have misunderstood your concerns. Please correct me if I have.

Regards,

Pat
