Ryan --
I, too, got a Rio for Christmas overnight from DIMD via webpage - with greatest love and affection from me to me. As a 50+ year old Trog (last programming I did was one course in college with punchcards), I expected to have some difficulty installing and setting up but didn't. Frankly, I had more trouble installing HP printer drivers under Win95. The in-box (i.e., paper) documentation could have been a little better (written for eight year olds would be nice for me hahaha) but certainly was adequate, and I liked the on-screen, idiotproof graphics that let me click spots on the screen just like I'd punch buttons on a Walkman(TM - can I say that? Fair use and all?). The sound was better than I expected, but then I listen to FM a lot so was pleased that it is more than comparable for these aged ears. Even classical music sounds fine on it although some of the finer parts of the "Barcelona" duets of Freddie Mercury and Monserrat Cabelle still sound better on my basement stereo.

PS - Ryan, thanks for the NiMH battery hint. Never thought of that.
