It just doesn't sound fair.

Did someone say that investing is about "fair"? If it is, I don't think it's fair:

That the Morgan Stanley High Tech Index of 35 hand-picked high-tech leaders increased in excess of 91% in 1998.

That a stock which has never produced a penny of profit (AMZN) has a market cap greater than J.C. Penny.

That AMZN has increased about 1,000% in 1998, while increasing its losses from operations.

That AOL's market cap is the same size as General Motors: What are we going to be doing in the future? Driving our browsers down the road? Paying $20,000 for an account with AOL?

That YHOO has a P/S ratio of 188, while AMZN's PE is "only" 36 or so.

It's not fair I tell you.
