Jake, I can't figure out why so much time is being spent on technical analysis. It all seems like a lot of garbage to me (no offense). If I was strictly a stock investor, I would just ignore it. I only look at it when I trade options (ie short term)
I can't understand that Dow Transport theory (they have to hit highs when the dow hits high). Bob Pisani on CNBC brings it up all the time.
It all sounds so dumb to me! What a stupid "theory". I wonder who comes up with these. Then there is the "market breadth". I won't get into that one for now.

There are probably a lot of strategists at the big brokerages insisting that we have to retest the lows. Why????
They just try to forecast the future with historical data. No wonder most mutual fund managers can't outperform the index. They probably have the same type of educated idiots as the brokerages. They pay attention to this kind of non sense.

This is why I like Abbey Joseph Cohen of Goldman Sachs --- she goes by the fundamentals. This makes sense!!!

BTW, This is not a shot at your reasoning for markets going higher. You just reminded me of what I feel about technical analysis.
I was buying call options in October right til that day when Nas was down 100 points and finished down only 60 (or -40 I am not sure).
The second best trading period of the year for me.
The market will go a lot higher --- on fundamentals.
