[ PAIR Conference Call ] or [ Driving 60Mph Into The Fog ] Pat - A quick take on the PairGain Conference Call. I had a better perspective of PAIR after SuperComm, now that I've heard the conference call, though their future is bright, (like all xDSL Players) I am less impressed with PAIR now. They currently have no end to end solution Working on DSLAM... distant. ADSL: "Slow on features, back to drawing board". CSCO is partnered with US WEST not Pair. !nterprise is the go between. When comparing HDSL/ADSL speeds they use 1.5Mbps when discussing business customers can't see the difference in speed. I prefer using 8 - 10Mbps when I compare... DSL is a "Robust market, Very High Demand" Can PAIR honestly think Business wants to keep the cost of T1 in Lou of going ADSL over copper. Coppers is in every CUBE/DESK.. If I were a business, why would I lease a T1 line and get slower speed? "Driving 60 mile an hours in the fog." I would say they are driving 10mph into a fog. Get on the Pedel Pair, the fog lifted a year ago.. Nothing but clean InfoBahn ahead... Pair says Bussiness customers prefer symmetrical soultion. 2Mbps upstream coming to the ADSL Standard. (Ref. Cioffi EETimes Article. Will it be able to run 2Mbps symmetrical? (RC question) My guess would be yes.... While listening to the call, I came to the realization of how much software will play in this indusrty.( no mention on the call, just random thoughts) Again here I'm betting Amati to have the advantage...TI :))) You are sure keeping up here, simply amazing.... Still no Mail Server. Back to the World Wide Wait.. (for DMT) JW@KSC
