I spoke to a friend of mine who is a broker at Merrill Lynch. I don't know how current his information is. According to him LGND is under "REVIEW" which means either Merill Lynch is offering some investment banking service like a secondary offering etc or who the analyst who was following LGND is no longer following it and they are in process of assigning a new analyst. He thinks for either of these 2 reason LGND may not be present at the conf. next month.
Like I mentioned earlier, I don't know how current his information is.

Also I think LGND will be of the mega deals of '97. I don't know if there many deals in the pharma sector last year. But I think one of the analyst on CNBC couple of weeks ago mentioned the pharma sector and retail sector is going to see a lot of M&A activity this year.

Thanks for your valuable information. After reading some of your replies I almost feel I am back in my Bio Chem class.
