Heres the data from AMG: This Week - 12/30/98 Equities $ 2.703 B Taxables $ 0.024 B Money Mkts $-24.211 B Municipals $ 0.559 B Last Week - 12/23/98 Equities $-4.865 B Taxables $-1.904 B Money Mkts $ 0.836 B Municipals $-0.307 B Last Year - 12/30/97 Equities $ 5.427 B Taxables $-0.180 B Money Mkts $-6.625 B Municipals $-0.266 B Its interesting to note the strong amount that left the money market funds, and which is substantially larger than last year. We all hear over and over that there is plenty of money on the sidelines, and I also believe that, but if money continues to flow out of money markets and equities the market that is not a great sign for the market. I feel that the liquidity is waiting for another buying opportunity at lower levels, which will not permit the market to sell off too much, but also is a factor that this market wont run up that hard either. 10% up and down this year. seeya
