August, re: "We are considering going out to the Grand Canyon" Was just there a few weeks ago. It was a great time to hike the canyon. Make sure you get a reservation for the phantom ranch at the bottom of the canyon. It fills up fast. And be sure to stop in Sedona while you are down there. Beautiful place. Enjoy. I too will be somewhere warm when the electricity goes out from the Y2K bug <s>.
