I'm a new investor in TSIG and one of the reasons that I invested is because of the deal with the Babe Ruth League. I think there is a potential to do well with this type of fund raising activity, but there is also a downside.
My son played Babe Ruth baseball for about 5 years and during a good portion of that time, I was on our local Babe Ruth board of directors.
Fund raising was always a very important job, because money was needed to pay the expenses of running the league. Most of the kids did not do the actual fund raising though. Many parents did not like the idea of kids going door to door selling things so much of our fundraising was geared to t shirts, sweatshirts, caps etc. etc. While I like the idea of the card, (my son already wants one) selling one to grandma and grandpa might not generate much revenue.
I think they have to target college kids. The ad in Rolling Stone is a great start, but maybe they should make some kind of deal with colleges. When my son was looking at colleges, we were always given some kind of admission packet with all sorts of stuff in it. If TSIG could make some kind of deal that entering college students get a card that would enable them to buy 3 CD's cheap, they might just hook them in to be repeat buyers. My son and many of his friends are always on line and they are basically lazy (unless there is a party!) If it's easier to buy online, and cheaper to boot they will probably do it!
Like I said I'm new to this thread and I hope TSIG does well, but I really think that the market is out there for the college crowd.
