tf pirate,
Thank you for the link to "Foreign Affairs" magazine. You are correct that they have not updated the site with the current issue as they do not make an online subscription available. Too bad as it would be one that I would subscribe to if available electronically. But at a subscription price of $32 dollars PLUS $35 bucks for air mail to a foreign country (non U.S.) for six issues I guess I can wait until they post articles from older issues. Especially since the "articles" are more along the lines of essays as opposed to short term dated material such as news items. There is an interesting essay by Mdme. Albright featured on the web site presently. They also have this description of an essay in the current issue which sounds very interesting:
TOKYO'S DEPRESSION DIPLOMACY by Yoichi Funabashi Japan faces its biggest foreign policy challenges since World War II. Its leaders must snap out of their deep funk to confront a rising China, a nuclear South Asia, a United States increasingly prone to Japan-bashing, and a world in economic free fall. Instead of sulking over the growing closeness of U.S.-China ties, Tokyo should take the initiative and propose trilateral dialogues with Beijing and Washington on a range of issues, especially Asian security, nuclear disarmament, and macroeconomic policy. Japan's pessimism threatens the world's prosperity. If Tokyo stays on the sidelines, the world will pass it by. >>
Thanks again for the link. I look forward to your comments here on this thread. Best, Stitch |
