For a list of all market maker symbols:
nasdaqtrader.com
Note: clicking the link above will activate a download of an .exe file to your disk. I have
not downloaded the file myself.

INCA is not a market maker; it is one of about half a dozen ECNs (Electronic
Communication Networks) that are authorized to display their best bids/asks on the
NASDAQ quotation system. INCA is the symbol for Instinet, used by traders for
financial institutions to trade relatively large blocks of stock.

The numbers associated with the bid/ask prices are the amounts, or sizes, in hundreds of
shares. Thus 10 indicates 1,000 shares.

INCA (or any ECN or market maker) will often simultaneously display both a bid and
an ask but not both at the same price.

A bid is an offer to buy; an ask (or offer) is an offer to sell. A bid of 19 1/4 for 10
means that the bidder is willing to pay $19.25 each for at least 1,000 shares and is
seeking (or is at least willing to buy from) a seller to whom that price is acceptable.
