Based on ORCL's hefty revival after its LINUX compatibility announcement, look for Jobs to make some moves in that direction.

ORCL and SUN announced that thier new simplified database server runs on a microkernal... they didn't say which one. The obvious choice would be the one SUN's UNIX uses, but there is some speculation that they may use the microkernal OS X runs on.

I've been following Linux for sometime at:

slashdot.org

The CONCEPT in itself is fascinating. If you think about it, haveing thousands of dedicated geeks pouncing on system bugs and fixing them is quite interesting. The fact that it has gotten this far and is still basically free is amazing. Combine it with Java and you've got some potent paridigm changing stuff out there.

Its remaining problem is still ease of use, the very problem that OS X portends to solve.

I have to admit I've been a bit negative on Apple lately but I'm really looking forward to Tuesday.
