That raises an interesting question. My shares were in an IRA. Does anybody know what the tax treatment is for the recovery of damages to an IRA? Do I have to put the money back into the IRA? Can I put the money back into the IRA and make a full regular contribution, too? I couldn't find anything about this on the IRS's Web site. Does anybody know where I can find the answer (short of hiring somebody or going to the law library)?

Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll send the money straight to Schwab?

JMHO.
