Proposing a Toast for this thread for the new year Here's hoping that we can all profit from the accumulated ideas that can be shared here. I'd appreciate anyone's input on point& figure for the index as a whole and individual issues. I think that watching the rate of change in relative strength among the individual stocks could be helpful in predicting nearterm index changes. Wish I'd acted on my gut last Monday with the index at 450. Priced the 450 calls& puts at about $30 ea. for Jan. was going to write the call and use the proceeds to buy the put. but was not informed enuf at the time to want to be naked to the upside. That would have been a nice New Year's present for a 2 day trade. Still think the index will decline this week as many will want to start the year right with profitable sales. Also, AMZN holders can lock in some gains by selling 1 or 2/3s of the upcoming split. MikeC
